Andreas, who are you? Where are you from, and what have you done so far in life?

My name is Andreas Krause, I am 54 years old and was born in Duisburg in North Rhine-Westphalia. I have always been interested in electrical engineering, and after my school days I completed an apprenticeship as an electrical machine fitter at AEG-Kanis. I then studied electrical engineering and completed my Master’s degree in 1996. Furthermore, I have been in the forklift truck industry since 1997 and have worked for various manufacturers in product management, R&D, and operations.
Mein Name ist Andreas Krause, ich bin 54 Jahre alt und in Duisburg in Nord-Rhein-Westfalen geboren. Ich habe mich schon immer für Elektrotechnik interessiert und nach meiner Schulzeit eine Ausbildung zum Elektromaschinenmonteur bei der AEG-Kanis absolviert. Anschließend habe ich Elektrotechnik studiert und das Master Studium1996 abgeschlossen. Seit 1997 bin ich in der Gabelstaplerbranche beschäftigt und habe seit dem, bei verschiedenen Herstelllern im Bereich Produkt Management, R&D und Operation gearbeitet.
What has been your main motivation to join EP?
Was war Ihre Hauptmotivation, EP beizutreten?
I have known EP as a customer for several years and am fascinated by the products, which ideas are generated and then turned into market-ready products. Now that I have known many colleagues in the EP team very well for many years and have worked together in a spirit of trust, I have been employed at EP since 1 February 2023, and I am looking forward to taking on this new and exciting challenge.
Ich kenne EP als Kunde schon über mehrere Jahre und bin fasziniert von den Produkten, welche Ideen generiert und dann in marktreife Produkte umgesetzt werden. Nachdem ich nun seit einigen Jahren viele Kollegen im EP-Team sehr gut kenne und vertrauensvoll zusammengearbeitet habe, bin ich seit dem 1. Februar 2023 bei EP beschäftigt und freue mich diese neue und spannende Herausforderung anzunehmen.
Which product do you find most interesting, and what do you want other people to know about this product?
Welches Produkt finden Sie am interessantesten und was möchten Sie anderen über dieses Produkt mitteilen?
There are many interesting products in the EP world. Especially the new EFL 3 series with lithium drive excites me and will replace the combustion engine driven vehicles in the long run. They are simple, cost-effective and above all reliable. I am fascinated by the new product family of self-propelled industrial trucks. The implementation of an established camera technology and the use of it to determine the position is typical of EP. The possibilities to combine the technologies to the right extent, to realize a simple and comprehensible installation at the customer’s site, is EP’s challenge and also its claim. I am really looking forward to seeing these products on the market.
Es gibt viele interessante Produkte in der EP-Welt. Gerade die neue EFL 3er Serie mit Lithium Antrieb begeistert mich und wird langfristig die verbrennungsmotorisch angetriebenen Fahrzeuge ablösen. Sie sind einfach, kostengünstig und vor allem zuverlässig.
Fasziniert bin ich von der neuen Produktfamilie der selbstfahrenden Flurförderzeuge. Die Umsetzung einer etablierten Kameratechnologie und daraus die Positionsbestimmung zu realisieren ist typisch EP. Die Möglichkeiten die Technologien im richtigen Maß zu verknüpfen, eine einfache und nachvollziehbare Installation beim Kunden vor Ort zu realisieren ist EP’s Herausforderung und auch der Anspruch. Ich freue mich wirklich, wenn diese Produkte auf den Markt kommen.
How do you think EP Equipment compares to other equipment in the material handling market?
Was denken Sie, wie EP Equipment im Vergleich zu anderen Geräten auf dem Materialumschlagmarkt abschneidet?
In my view, the slogan “Change together” says it all. The key to success is to implement ideas in product development in a targeted manner, even in completely new areas, such as the EPT12-EZ Pro and in the field of lithium batteries, and to offer our sales partners and customers an outstanding product. New products are nothing without fast support, and here EP is excellently positioned with its EP-Care online platform. Direct access to expert technical support on site and in the factory makes the difference between EP and the rest of the industry.
Der Slogan “Change together” sagt aus meiner Sicht schon alles aus. Die Ideen in der Produktentwicklung, auch in ganz neuen Bereichen, wie beim EPT12-EZ Pro sowie im Bereich der Lithium Batterien, zielgerichtet umzusetzen und an unsere Vertriebspartner und Kunden ein hervorragendes Produkt anzubieten ist der Schlüssel zum Erfolg. Neue Produkte sind nichts ohne einen schnellen Support, und hier ist EP mit seiner EP-Care Online-Plattform hervorragend aufgestellt. Der direkte Zugang zum kompetenten technischen Support vor Ort und im Werk machen den Unterschied zwischen EP und dem Rest der Branche aus.
What hobbies do you have, and how do you spend your weekends?
Welche Hobbies hast du und wie verbringst du deine Wochenenden?
I live in Duisburg with my wife and 3 children. I like to read, go for walks with my wife, and there is always work to be done on our house. My daughter plays handball and I like to accompany her and take over administrative tasks during the game.
Ich lebe mit meiner Frau und 3 Kindern in Duisburg. Ich lese gerne, gehe mit meiner Frau Spazieren und an unserem Haus gibt es handwerklich immer einiges zu tun. Meine Tochter spielt Handball und ich mag es Sie zu begleiten und administrative Aufgaben während des Spiels zu übernehmen.
What is your biggest wish for your first year at EP?
Was ist dein größter Wunsch für dein erstes Jahr bei EP?
My goal for the first year is to get to know my new colleagues all over the EP world and to bring the experience I have gained in 25 years of forklift truck product development and standardization to our fantastic team.
Mein Ziel für das erste Jahr ist es, meine neuen Kollegen in der ganzen EP Welt kennenzulernen und meine gemachten Erfahrungen aus 25 Jahren Gabelstapler im Bereich der Produktentwicklung und Normung in unser fantastischen Team mit einzubringen.
