The ZL-PSM360 towable self-propelled passenger stair is a non-motorized passenger stair developed by EP. It boasts an aesthetic, lightweight, and practical design. Utilizing the parallelogram principle, it allows stepless adjustment according to aircraft door heights, ensuring the treadplate and upper platform remain horizontal regardless of adjustments, and features a continuous ladder body

Product Advantages

The self-propelled passenger stair platform reaches a height of 2400 to 3600mm from the ground, suitable for passenger boarding and disembarking on aircraft series such as A318, A319, A320, A321, B707, B727, B737, DC-8/40/50F, DC8-61/61F, DC8-62/62F, DC8-63/63F, and IL-18. It can also serve as a work ladder for maintenance personnel.

Main Structure and Configuration

01// Chassis Assembly

The chassis assembly is the core component, consisting of a chassis welding, traction assembly, rear axle assembly, tail ladder welding, operator console assembly, hydraulic control valve assembly, drive wheel assembly, battery pack, drive controller installation assembly, electrical control box assembly, and fire extinguisher.

02// Guard Plate Assembly

The guard plates on both sides are movable, consisting of a guard plate frame and skin. The skin uses δ=4mm double-sided aluminum-plastic new decorative material. The guard plates are fixed to the ladder frame with M12 bolts, and the guard plate handrails are made of φ38mm stainless steel tubes.

03// Platform Assembly

The platform assembly mainly consists of a platform frame, left and right sliding doors, a front swing platform, and electrical accessories. The fixed platform’s side beams and the supporting crossbeam of the lifting cylinders are welded assemblies of rectangular tube profiles. The movable platform is connected to the fixed platform using tension springs.

04// Ladder Body Assembly

  • The ladder body connects to the platform at the front end and is fixed to the chassis support seat at the rear end.
  • The upper and lower side beams of the ladder body are load-bearing beams made of 100×50×5mm and 80×40×5mm seamless rectangular tubes, respectively. When the self-propelled passenger stair rises and descends, the upper and lower ladder frames move in a parallelogram pattern.
  • The ladder step support frame is welded from 4# angle iron and connected to the upper and lower ladder frames with pivot pins. The ladder treads are made from δ=4mm patterned aluminum plates.

05// Lifting Mechanism

The platform lifting adopts a cylinder method, with the cylinder’s power source coming from a gear pump. Guide pillar racks and bushings are on both sides, with the lifting mechanism in the middle, assembled into a gantry form.When raising the platform, press the lifting cylinder rise button, and the locking blocks automatically engage. When the desired height is reached, press the lifting cylinder descent button. Due to the tension spring force, the locking blocks automatically lock the guide pillar racks, preventing further descent of the lifting cylinder and locking the entire lifting mechanism.

06// Electrical System

The electrical system operates at 24V and mainly consists of a battery, drive system, control system, operating system, and lighting system. Operations are divided into two areas: an operation box dashboard and an operation lever panel. See diagrams below for the operation box dashboard and operation lever panel.

07// Spare Parts and Accessories

Each truck is equipped with one spare tire, one 8kg dry powder fire extinguisher, two rubber wheel chocks, one repair kit for various oil cylinders, and a set of onboard maintenance tools.

08// Hydraulic System

The hydraulic system mainly consists of a tank, oil suction filter, shut-off valve, oil pump, check valve, solenoid directional valve, double hydraulic lock, lifting cylinders, front/rear stabilizer cylinders, rear wheel lifting cylinders, pressure gauge, oil pipes, and piping accessories.
