What casting processes are available for agricultural equipment?
EP Equipment offers three primary casting processes for agricultural components: investment casting for complex geometries and smooth finishes, die casting for high-volume production with excellent dimensional accuracy, and sand casting for larger parts and flexible production quantities. Process selection depends on component size, complexity, production volume and material requirements. All processes can be combined with CNC machining for precision finishing.
Which materials are suitable for agricultural equipment castings?
Agricultural equipment castings are available in nodular/ductile iron for high strength and impact resistance, grey iron for vibration damping and wear resistance, carbon steel for general purpose applications, alloy steel for enhanced mechanical properties, and stainless steel for corrosion resistance. Material selection depends on the specific application, environmental conditions, load requirements and expected service life. All materials conform to international standards including GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN, NF, JIS, BS, AS and AAR.
What surface treatments are applied to agricultural castings?
Components receive shot blasting to remove scale and improve surface quality, polishing for smooth finishes where required, and electrophoretic coating for superior corrosion protection. Surface roughness is customisable from Ra0.05 to Ra50 depending on application requirements. These treatments enhance component durability, particularly important for agricultural equipment operating in harsh outdoor environments with exposure to moisture, soil and varying temperatures.
What size range can be manufactured?
