The Situation
Automated pallet trucks transport carts carrying parts for a sub-assembly. Using a simple on-off system, the pallet trucks move the carts along the assembly line, stopping at designated points where operators manually unload the parts. This reduces manual transport efforts along the assembly line.
Before
The operator would load the ride-on pallet truck and manually transport the material across the warehouse to the destination point. After unloading, the operator would return to execute the next task. Each run took more than 5 minutes, causing delays and reducing productivity.
After
The operator loads the raw materials onto the Co-bot, which autonomously transports them across the warehouse to the destination point. At the workstation, the operator unloads the materials, and the Co-bot returns to continue its path, ready for the next task.
Result
By loading the Multi-functional pallet truck, the operator can immediately move on to the next task, no longer wasting time crossing the entire warehouse. The truck handles the repetitive transport tasks, leading to a significant boost in productivity and long-term efficiency.
